60-Year-Old Arrested After Suspicious Behavior Prompts Vehicle Search in Coffee County
A suspicious vehicle stop in Douglas led to the arrest of a 60-year-old woman after deputies located suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia during a consensual search. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and booked into the county jail.
DCDU Uncovers 11 Grams of Meth On A traffic stop in Douglas
A Coffee County D.I.C.E. traffic stop led to the arrest of Tony Hatch Harper after he admitted marijuana was inside his vehicle, prompting a search that uncovered approximately 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Harper faces felony drug charges.
DCDU Executes Two Search Warrants, Arrest Made.
The Douglas Coffee Drug Unit, assisted by the CCSO D.I.C.E. Unit, executed two search warrants, arresting Quanta Taylor and Cleveland Tanksley. Agents seized 60.2 grams of crack cocaine, a stolen handgun, and nearly $4,000 in cash during the narcotics investigations.
DCDU Investigation Leads to Four Arrests

Unit and the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office for their invaluable assistance throughout this investigation. DCDU ARREST Douglas Man on Drug Trafficking Charge
Agents of the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit arrested Preston Pernell Fields, 53, of Douglas, following a drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of approximately 6.38 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, THC gummy products, and $1,823.58 in cash. Fields was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and other drug-related offenses. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail without incident. The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming pending further review and laboratory analysis.
COFFEE COUNTY DRUG UNITS HIT BROXTON RESIDENCE IN MAJOR TRAFFICKING BUST
On April 17, 2026, agents with the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit and D.I.C.E. executed a search warrant in Broxton after a months-long investigation led to the seizure of 3lbs of marijuana, THC vapes, firearms, and cash. 24-year-old Gene Price Gorden III was arrested and faces serious felony charges.
Enough to Kill Thousands: Fentanyl Trafficking Arrest Made by DCDU
Agents with the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit and D.I.C.E. Unit executed a search warrant following a months-long investigation into fentanyl trafficking in Douglas. A 48-year-old woman was taken into custody, and approximately 35 grams of fentanyl were seized. That amount equates to more than 17,000 potentially lethal doses, highlighting the extreme danger this substance poses. Officials say removing it from the streets likely prevented significant harm and saved lives within the community.
Westgreen Community just got rid of a major drug problem
On April 8, 2026, the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit, with assistance from the D.I.C.E. Unit, executed a search warrant in Westgreen, Georgia, resulting in the arrest of Terry Britt Jr. Authorities seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, and Schedule III narcotics, along with multiple firearms. As a convicted felon, Britt is prohibited from possessing weapons.
A busy month for DCDU!
Between March 17–22, 2026, multiple Douglas traffic stops led to six arrests. Authorities seized methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and stolen firearms, with charges ranging from possession to trafficking and firearm-related offenses.
Drug Unit Executes Search Warrants leads to Multiple Arrests
Three individuals were arrested on March 15, 2026, after the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit executed search warrants on Wildwood Rd. and Mark Mobley Rd. during a methamphetamine investigation.
Michael Witt Sr. and Michael Witt Jr. were charged with possession of methamphetamine. Witt Jr. also faces a firearm charge. Dustin Bowen was arrested on outstanding warrants and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
DCDU Arrest Two on Trafficking Charges
Two Douglas residents were arrested following the execution of a search warrant near Trojan Way on December 30, 2025. Agents seized over 12 ounces of cocaine and 12 pounds of marijuana and 63 Oxycodone tablets.. Both suspects Joel Dooley and Leondra Carmichael Dooley both face multiple trafficking and felony drug charges and were transported to the Coffee County Jail.
