The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division

Led by Captain Josh Haselden, the Patrol Division serves as the frontline of the Coffee County Sheriff's Office and is committed to protecting the citizens of the unincorporated areas of Coffee County through proactive law enforcement, crime prevention, and rapid emergency response. Patrol Deputies are on duty around the clock, responding to calls for service, enforcing Georgia law, investigating suspicious activity, and maintaining a highly visible presence throughout the county to deter criminal activity.

In addition to providing law enforcement services, deputies assigned to the Patrol Division execute arrest warrants, serve civil process, and provide assistance to municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies whenever needed. Under Captain Haselden's leadership, the division emphasizes professionalism, leadership, and continuous training to ensure deputies are prepared to meet the evolving public safety needs of the community. Since beginning his law enforcement career with the Coffee County Sheriff's Office in 2006, Captain Haselden has remained dedicated to developing personnel and delivering the highest standard of service while fostering strong partnerships with the citizens of Coffee County.

60-Year-Old Arrested After Suspicious Behavior Prompts Vehicle Search in Coffee County

A suspicious vehicle stop in Douglas led to the arrest of a 60-year-old woman after deputies located suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia during a consensual search. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and booked into the county jail.

DCDU Uncovers 11 Grams of Meth On A traffic stop in Douglas

A Coffee County D.I.C.E. traffic stop led to the arrest of Tony Hatch Harper after he admitted marijuana was inside his vehicle, prompting a search that uncovered approximately 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Harper faces felony drug charges.

Traffic Stop Results in Methamphetamine Arrest

D.I.C.E. Unit traffic stop on Barrington Road led to the arrest of Christopher Dale Burkett after deputies found suspected methamphetamine concealed inside his truck. Burkett also faces a charge for driving with a suspended license.

Investigation Leads to two horses recovered and two arrest.

Coffee County investigators recovered two stolen horses and arrested two Liberty County men following a two week long investigation. The colt and filly were found in McIntosh County through a multiagency effort. Both suspects face theft of livestock and criminal trespass charges.

DCDU Executes Two Search Warrants, Arrest Made.

The Douglas Coffee Drug Unit, assisted by the CCSO D.I.C.E. Unit, executed two search warrants, arresting Quanta Taylor and Cleveland Tanksley. Agents seized 60.2 grams of crack cocaine, a stolen handgun, and nearly $4,000 in cash during the narcotics investigations.

DCDU Investigation Leads to Four Arrests

The Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit extends its appreciation to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office D.I.C.E. Unit and the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office for their invaluable assistance throughout this investigation. Sheriff Fred Cole continues to emphasize the importance of interagency collaboration in identifying, investigating, and apprehending individuals who choose to bring illegal drugs into our communities. He reiterates that strong partnerships between law enforcement agencies remain essential in the ongoing fight to keep our communities safe.

DCDU ARREST Douglas Man on Drug Trafficking Charge

Agents of the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit arrested Preston Pernell Fields, 53, of Douglas, following a drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of approximately 6.38 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, THC gummy products, and $1,823.58 in cash. Fields was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and other drug-related offenses. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail without incident. The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming pending further review and laboratory analysis.

Homicide Investigation Results in Three Arrests

Three individuals have been charged following a fatal shooting on Broxton West Green Highway that claimed the life of Dustin Ryan Bowen, 34, of Douglas. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office is working alongside the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) in the ongoing investigation. Breanalee Nichole Lollie, 24, was charged with Party to the Crime of Murder. Raymond Ressler, 18, was charged with Aggravated Assault. A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault.

CHILD PREDATOR ARRESTED IN COFFEE COUNTY

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Derrick Shawn Porter, 30, on 16 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children and 1 count of Child Molestation.

Arrest Made In Online Child Exploitation Investigation

A 56 year old Coffee County man was arrested in an online child exploitation investigation involving explicit communications with someone believed to be 13. Sheriff Fred Cole warns predators: “We will find you, arrest you, and prosecute you.”

Jailer Arrested For Violation Of Oath

Coffee County jailer Imari Bailey, 24, was arrested June 1 after investigators said she smuggled contraband into the Coffee County Jail. Bailey faces felony charges including violation of oath, providing contraband, and jail violations.

ARMY SOLDIER ARRESTED NINE-YEAR- OLD CHILD SEX CRIME.

Following a multi-year investigation, deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 26-year-old Tyrone Barry Carter Jr., a U.S. Army soldier stationed at Fort Stewart, on charges of Aggravated Child Molestation.

Fugitive of Justice hiding in plain sight… Now in jail

Justin Eugene Carver, a fugitive wanted out of Pennsylvania on charges involving minors, was arrested by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit after fleeing back to Coffee County. Sheriff Fred Cole warns: “If you come to Coffee County looking to hide from the law, you’ve got another thing coming.” Carver is being held at the Coffee County Jail pending extradition.

Former Coffee County Deputy Arrested Following Multi-Count Criminal Charges

Former Coffee County Deputy Chris Ashley Rozar was arrested May 5, 2026, following a GBI investigation that began in 2024. He faces multiple charges, including violation of oath, computer invasion of privacy, misuse of license plate data, and stalking. Rozar was previously terminated.
