COFFEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORTS 98% COMPLIANCE DURING STATEWIDE SEX OFFENDER OPERATION

Douglas, GA – On Monday, October 26, 2026, deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association’s Operation Watchful Eye XI, conducted compliance checks on all 102 registered sex offenders residing in Coffee County.

Of the 102 registered offenders, five are classified as dangerous sexual predators. The operation resulted in a 98% compliance rate, with the vast majority of offenders found to be in full compliance with state registry requirements. Two individuals were found to be non-compliant resulting in arrest and pending charges.

This result reflects the continued commitment of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office to accountability, proactive enforcement, and community safety. At the time of the statewide operation, Coffee County reported no newly identified absconded offenders and only two outstanding absconders who have been on the run for several years and are believed to be outside the state of Georgia.

Sheriff’s Office officials credit this level of compliance to the dedicated work of the Sex Offender Unit, consistent monitoring, strong law enforcement partnerships, and proactive enforcement efforts.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to ensuring registered sex offenders meet their legal obligations and that our community remains informed and protected.
