Chavoski Williams was taken into custody after a compliance search uncovered disturbing chats with at least six minors. Despite knowing a victim was only 14 years old, Williams posed as a teen to solicit explicit contact and demand "secrecy."
Micheal Lamar Weldon was arrested after fleeing a traffic stop during a drug investigation in the area of North Madison Avenue. Deputies seized multiple illegal drugs and a handgun, and he now faces several felony charges, including drug offenses and fleeing law enforcement.
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Elsy Stefany Sanchez Lopez following an investigation into identity theft and forgery. The suspect faces multiple felony charges after allegedly using fraudulent identification to obtain employment. The case remains under investigation.

Welcome to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office plays a critical role in maintaining safety and order in Coffee County, Georgia, which spans approximately 600 square miles and serves a population of over 44,000 residents. This diverse county comprises four incorporated cities—Douglas, Ambrose, Broxton, and Nicholls—as well as six unincorporated communities, including Bushnell, Lax, Mora, Oak Park, Sapps Still, and West Green. Positioned just sixty miles northeast of Valdosta, Coffee County is the 13th largest county in Georgia, necessitating a well-structured law enforcement framework. The Sheriff’s Office is composed of multiple divisions: the Patrol Unit, Investigations, Civil Services and the Detention Center, each playing a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the community.
Under the leadership of Sheriff Fred T. Cole, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office collaborates closely with various Local, State & Federal agencies. This collaboration enhances the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts throughout the county, as the Sheriff's Office remains committed to proactive policing, ensuring that all citizens feel safe within their communities. By fostering strong inter-agency relationships, the Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to addressing crime and providing a secure environment for the residents of Coffee County.
In addition to its law enforcement duties, the Sheriff’s Office is also tasked with the administration and daily operation of the County Jail, including the booking, transportation, and housing of inmates. Additionally, maintaining security within the courthouse and courtroom during all County and Circuit Court sessions is a priority for the Sheriff’s Office, reflecting its commitment to upholding justice and safeguarding the legal proceedings within Coffee County.
