CHILD PREDATOR ARRESTED IN COFFEE COUNTY
Derrick Shawn Porter, 30, Douglas, GA
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Derrick Shawn Porter, 30, who has been charged with sixteen (16) counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children and one count of Child Molestation following an extensive investigation into allegations involving child sexual abuse material.
On May 22, 2026, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office received credible information indicating the possible presence of child sexual abuse material on an electronic device. The case was immediately assigned to investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division, who launched an aggressive and comprehensive investigation into the allegations.
Through digital forensic analysis, investigative follow-up, and the execution of multiple investigative procedures, detectives identified Derrick Shawn Porter as the individual responsible. Evidence obtained throughout the investigation established probable cause for his arrest on the above listed charges. Porter was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Coffee County Jail.
“I have made it clear over and over that crimes involving the exploitation of children will be met with swift and relentless action. Let this arrest send a loud and unmistakable message that If you exploit children, possess child sexual abuse material, or prey on the innocent, we are coming for you. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable, disgusting, and criminal. There will be no excuses, no sympathy, and no tolerance for anyone who victimizes a child in Coffee County. Our investigators will use every resource available to identify offenders, build strong cases, and ensure they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Stated Sheriff Fred Cole.
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office maintains a zero tolerance stance against crimes involving the exploitation and abuse of children. Cases of this nature remain among the highest priorities for investigators, and every lead is pursued aggressively to protect victims and hold offenders fully accountable.
Derrick Shawn Porter is presumed innocent until convicted.
