Jimmy Adams, 56, Douglas, GA
A Coffee County man is behind bars following an investigation into an online child exploitation case conducted by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
Investigators arrested 56 year old Jimmy Adams and charged him with one count of Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act Violations in violation of O.C.G.A. 16-12-100.2.
On May 28, 2026, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a suspected online child exploitation incident involving an adult male communicating with an individual believed to be a 13 year old child. Deputies obtained digital evidence of sexually explicit communications and image exchanges, and the case was immediately assigned to investigators for further review.
During the course of the investigation, detectives analyzed the evidence, conducted follow up investigative efforts, and identified Adams as the individual involved. Based on the evidence obtained, probable cause was established, and Adams was taken into custody without incident on the listed charge.
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office maintains a zero tolerance stance against crimes involving the exploitation and abuse of children. Investigations involving children are pursued aggressively, thoroughly, and with the highest priority to ensure offenders are held accountable and vulnerable victims are protected.
“This type of behavior has no place in our community,” said Sheriff Fred Cole. “Our investigators remain committed to protecting children and aggressively pursuing anyone who seeks to exploit them through online platforms or any other means.”
This investigation remains active and ongoing. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information related to this case, no matter how minor it may seem, to contact investigators and assist in the ongoing investigation.
Jimmy Adams is presumed innocent until convicted.
