Coffee County Sheriff's Office Issues Disorderly Conduct Charges Following Neighborhood Altercation

On the evening of April 13, 2025, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a physical altercation between JOHN ASHFORD and CODY ELIJAH EDGE at a residence on Old Waycross Highway.

According to statements obtained on scene, both individuals had been drinking throughout the day when a verbal exchange escalated into a physical confrontation. Each party alleged the other was the aggressor. At least one claimed a threat involving a firearm, though no weapon was observed by witnesses.

Due to conflicting accounts and both individuals admitting to mutual combat while under the influence of alcohol, a Criminal Accusation for Disorderly Conduct was issued for both parties under O.C.G.A. § 16-11-39.

Both ASHFORD and EDGE were transported to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center and advised of their charges. They were informed of their eligibility to post bond.
