Former Coffee County Deputy Arrested Following Multi-Count Criminal Charges

Coffee County, GA — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has formally charged and arrested former Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chris Ashley Rozar, 49 -years-old of Douglas following the completion of a multi-year investigation into allegations of misconduct.

The investigation began about two years ago after a woman came forward with allegations that Rozar had stalking her; Along with additional claims of serious misconduct. At the time the allegations were brought forward, then-Sheriff Doyle Wooten requested the GBI to conduct an independent and comprehensive investigation. Following the initiation of that investigation, Rozar was terminated from his position with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.

After concluding its investigative findings, the GBI arrested Rozar on May 5, 2026. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including four counts of Violation of Oath by a Public Officer, two counts of Computer Invasion of Privacy, and one count each of Prohibited Use of Captured License Plate Data and Stalking.

Rozar was taken into custody and will proceed through the judicial process. As with all criminal cases, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office acknowledges the conclusion of the GBI’s investigation and reiterates its commitment to accountability, ethical conduct, and maintaining public trust. Allegations involving sworn personnel are treated with the utmost seriousness, and the agency continues to fully cooperate with outside investigative authorities when appropriate.
