Routine Traffic Stop in Douglas Leads to Felony Arrest

A routine traffic stop conducted by a Douglas Police Department officer has led to the arrest of a wanted felon and the discovery of illegal narcotics.
The stop occurred after a vehicle was observed operating without a visible license plate. During the stop, the officer identified one of the passengers as Tyler Willard, who was confirmed to have an active felony probation warrant.
Willard was taken into custody and transported to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center. During a standard booking procedure, officers discovered approximately 2.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine concealed in Willard’s sock.
The Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit was immediately notified. As a result, Tyler Willard has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Crossing the Guard Lines with Illegal Contraband.
