Notice of Final Honor Deputy Kerry W. Moore Jr.

Today the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office mourns the loss of Deputy Kerry Moore Jr..  Moore was a dedicated Deputy who tragically lost his battle to cancer in the early hours of February 13, 2025. Sheriff Cole, CCSO Deputies and members of the City of Douglas Police Department arrived at his home at approximately 2:30AM and escorted him to Sims Funeral Home in Douglas; where in the coming days he will be remembered and laid to rest. 

Moore joined the CCSO in 2014 and remained a full time deputy until he went part-time in 2023. Deputy Moore remained as a reserved deputy until he passed away.

“Great Deputy, great family guy, great father, great husband. He will always be remembered as that. No matter what we ask Kerry to do, he always did it. Kerry was just one of those guys that you love to be around. And he’ll be deeply missed for that.” Stated Sheriff Fred Cole.

A ceremony has been planned to honor Deputy Moore for 11:00AM, Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Jowers Chapel Holiness Baptist in Axson, GA 31624. Full Honors Ceremony will take place graveside at Tanner Baptist Church Cemetery located at 831 Lyman Adams Road Douglas, GA 31535.
