Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Sand Ridge Area

Michael Harvey Ashley, 56, Douglas GA

Douglas, GA – On Monday, September 22, 2025, a K9 Unit and detective with the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop on a moped in the Sand Ridge area. The driver was identified as Michael Ashley.

During the course of the investigation, deputies discovered methamphetamine after Ashley attempted to dispose of the substance in their presence. He was immediately arrested and charged with Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act and transported to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas Police Department remains committed to combating illegal narcotics within the community and urges citizens to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
