Tallahassee Man Arrested in Coffee County on Felony Drug Charges
Matthew Clay Chitty, 55 of Tallahassee, Florida
A Tallahassee man was arrested on the evening of September 10, 2025, following an incident at a store on Highway 221.
Deputies responded to a business on North Highway 221 and found a male subject reportedly slumped over the wheel of a vehicle. The subject was identified as Matthew Clay Chitty, age 55, of Tallahassee, Florida. During the investigation, Chitty admitted to occasional methamphetamine use and consented to a search of his vehicle.
Deputies recovered a clear plastic bag containing a blue crystal like substance suspected to be fentanyl. A further search of Chitty’s person led to the discovery of another bag containing a crystal like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
The Douglas Coffee Drug Unit responded and as a result of their brief investigation; charged Chitty with possession of fentanyl and possession of methamphetamine in violation of Georgia Code Section 16 13 30 (c). Both charges are classified as felonies.
