DCDU Arrests Suspect for Methamphetamine Trafficking

Ellis Lowe, 43, Douglas, GA

Coffee County, GA  – On October 31, 2025, the Douglas – Coffee Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Maple Street in Douglas, Georgia, following an extensive investigation into suspected illegal drug activity.

Prior to the execution of the search warrant, investigators had obtained an arrest warrant for Ellis Lowe in connection with the sale of methamphetamine. During the search, law enforcement officials recovered evidence that led to Lowe’s arrest for trafficking in methamphetamine.

Under Georgia law, trafficking in methamphetamine is considered a serious offense. A person found guilty of trafficking methamphetamine can face severe penalties, including imprisonment for a minimum of ten years and fines up to $500,000, depending on the quantity involved and other factors outlined in O.C.G.A. 16-13-31.

Sheriff Fred Cole emphasized the importance of continued community support in combating illegal drug activity: “The Douglas – Coffee Drug Unit remains committed to disrupting the distribution of dangerous drugs in our community. Trafficking methamphetamine poses a significant threat to public safety, and we will continue to hold offenders accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Lowe is currently in custody at the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center, awaiting further court proceedings.
