Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Wanted Sex Offender for Failing to Register
The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the apprehension of Anthony Cleveland Goodwin, age 48, a registered sex offender who was wanted for failure to comply with state registration laws.
Goodwin was taken into custody on July 23, 2025, and is currently being held at the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center. He is charged with a felony violation for failing to register as a sex offender and for providing false or incomplete information as required by Georgia state law.
An investigation was initiated immediately upon Goodwin’s failure to report a change of address after vacating his last known residence. According to state requirements, all registered sex offenders must notify local law enforcement in person at least three days before making any change to their residential status; including temporary relocations. Goodwin did not report any new address and his whereabouts remained unknown and a warrant was issued.
Goodwin was located and arrested without incident. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that failure to comply with the sex offender registry laws is a serious offense and will be addressed with swift enforcement.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages all registrants to remain compliant and report any required information to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner.
