Captain Eva Contreras
Captain Eva Contreras began her service with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office in 2017 when she was appointed as a Deputy Sheriff by Sheriff Doyle Wooten. Over the past several years, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication to public service and the mission of the agency. In 2021, she was promoted to Sergeant, assuming leadership of the Road Patrol Division and taking on increasing responsibilities within the department.
In 2026, Sheriff Fred Cole appointed Contreras to the rank of Captain, and she now serves as the Administrative Captain for the Coffee County Sheriff's Office. In this role, she oversees the daily administrative operations of the agency while ensuring the efficient coordination of departmental and court-related functions. She supervises administrative staff and court personnel, ensuring all duties are performed in accordance with departmental policies, court procedures, and applicable laws.
In addition to her administrative leadership, Captain Contreras serves as the Open Records Custodian for the Sheriff’s Office. She is responsible for receiving, processing, and responding to open records requests in compliance with the Georgia Open Records Act, ensuring all requests are handled accurately, professionally, and within required legal timeframes while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information when applicable. Through her strong leadership, organization, and attention to detail, Captain Contreras plays a vital role in ensuring that administrative and court operations run efficiently and professionally, supporting the mission and integrity of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
