Drug Trafficking Arrest Results in Serious Charges; Sheriff Issues Stern Warning to Offenders
Coffee County, GA , On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at approximately 2:55 AM, Detectives with the Douglas-Coffee County Drug Unit conducted a lawful traffic stop on Christopher Brent Johnson. During the course of the stop, detectives located a significant quantity of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl in Johnson’s possession.
As a result, Christopher Brent Johnson was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Trafficking Methamphetamine, in violation of OCGA 16-13-31
Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (Fentanyl), in violation of OCGA 16-13-30(b)
Johnson was transported to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center, where he remains in custody pending judicial proceedings.
These charges are among the most serious under Georgia law, particularly given the highly addictive and deadly nature of the drugs involved. Fentanyl, in even the smallest amounts, continues to claim lives across the state and nation.
